  I am an undergraduate student at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA where I study environmental studies and classical studies. My research history has focused on community resiliency and my internship history includes, most notably, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Senate. I am interested in environmental governance. My research hits right at this intersection by looking at local government climate change preparation. Are local governments preparing? How are local governments preparing? Why are they not preparing? This topic is going to become even more prevalent as we begin to experience more severe effects of climate change.

  My majors form an unlikely pair but allowed me to create a framework to understand human society: the needs, the wants, the motivations, the behaviors, and the ways humans interact. Classical Studies teaches the ideological roots of Western Civilization and tackles deep political and ethical questions that society has asked for over 2,000 years. On the other hand, Environmental Studies teaches a pragmatic approach: how humans historically interacted with the environment, what has worked, and what has not.
