Dr. Ruby Yu is a research fellow of the Jockey Club Institute of Ageing at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and also where she had completed her PhD and training in epidemiology and biostatistics. Dr. Yu's research interest lies in the area of healthy ageing, frailty, physical and cognitive impairment; she is particularly interested in understanding the interplay between physical and social environments and how they impact health behaviours and intrinsic capacity. She has been involved in a number of studies for healthy ageing, including community frailty screening and the link between neighborhood environmental characteristics, health and wellbeing. Current research works including frailty intervention trial, cognitive intervention trial and age-friendly city project. She has published 52 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 21 papers in conference proceedings and 9 book chapters and reports. Recent research outputs include trajectories of frailty, cross-regional comparison of the contributing factors of frailty, and demonstration of associations between neighborhood green space and the development of frailty. She has dedicated her career to the area of healthy ageing.
