I'm Dr Aziz Gbaya, a Senior Program Officer supporting PATH's Senegal Country Program. I come from a background in population health surveillance, program performance and evaluation, public health intervention evaluation, research and education. I provided support for the RTS,S malaria vaccine introduction in Ghana, Kenya, and Malawi. I also served as a member of the Technical Committee for the External Review of the EPI Programme in Senegal, evaluating vaccine management practices; cold chain equipment logistics; and implementing coverage, knowledge and practices, and operations-focused surveys. I oversaw the immunization coverage survey in preparation of the HPV vaccine introduction in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Bangladesh; and served on the post-introduction evaluation team for the HPV vaccine introduction in Liberia. While working as a Medical Advisor in the Immunization Division of the Senegalese Ministry of Health, I trained staff in immunization and population health surveillance.
