  My name is Diana Ailed Montes Yanez, I am a lawyer and currently studying a Master in International Relations of Local Governments and Actors in the Guadalajara University. As a lawyer, I have worked for the government of Jalisco more than 10 years in the public administration and in courts. Working for a local government made me aware of the lack of knowledge of the international agenda and global concerns for social development. Suddenly, lawyers needed to care about human rights and international treaties to understand local law. Thus I decided to study International Relations where I am doing a research project about gender equality and women's access to chief positions in the public administration in Jalisco.
