  I am a former English instructor who is now pursuing a Ph.D in communication and media. Teaching still remains at the forefront of my endeavors, however, as my research is rooted primarily in media effects and literacy, as well as principles of media pedagogy on an interdisciplinary scale. I am enthusiastic about the role that new technologies play in the classroom, but I also enjoy examining effects of media technology on out-of-classroom learning potential as well. Outside of media, my teaching interests include literature and language (particularly ESL and German).
