  I am a Professor of Islamic Studies with a fcocus on Islamic civilisaiton and its interconnectedness with the Western civlisation. Over the last 2 decades I have established and directed three research centres at prominent Australian universities including the National Centre of Excellence for Islamic Studies, and the Centre for Islamic Thought and Education (CITE). I have over 25 peer reviewed journal articles, 1 monograph, two co-edited book (Palgrave MacMillan, and University of Melbourne Press) and 1 co-authored book (Palgrave Macmillan). I have sucessfully supervised more than 25 Hifher Research Degree students and currently lead the Centre for Islamic Thought and Education at the University of South Australia.
