  I am currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Florida studying Latin American History with a concentration in Race & Ethnicity. My dissertation focuses on the use of state-sponsored recreation programs in Socialist Cuba as part of public health initiatives. My research interests include topics in sports, medicine, state-building, and national identity. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and volunteering with animals.
