Bilkis Vissandjee is a professor at the Faculty of Nursing at the Universite de Montreal. Her main research interest is in the challenges of providing quality care in a multi-ethnic context, taking into account gender, ethnicity, immigration experiences and equity. Dr Vissandjee recently completed her term as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Insitute for the Health of Women and Men of the Canadian Insitutes of Research. She sits on the advisory committee responsible for adapting health programs and policies to Quebec's cultural communities, particularly bringing her expertise in gender and diversity.
