  I am a novice film maker promoting film as scholarship. I have wide-ranging education experience and life interests. As a teacher of social sciences, sociology and English I have developed relationships with amazing students, including immigrant students. I have learned so much about "other ways of knowing" that my currect research and film project focus on this topic and how Western epistemological and methodological domincance intersect with these other ways. As a single mother of a teenage boy I am privy to the social changes happening at various levels among youth. I am intersted in how social media and other technology is transforming not only our methods of communciation, but our relationships. I have a strong interest in the arts and incorporate them into my teaching. As I continue on my journey as a teacher and a student I hope to make a contribution in academic circles as well as artistic ones.
