Hong Ma is the Head of Library Systems at Loyola University Chicago. She plans and provides oversight for the library's technology infrastructure (including all library systems, the library websites, digital collection platforms, institutional repository, archival management systems, and digital preservation platform), serve as lead administrator for library systems. She has taken a lead in revamping the library system to next generation and used value stream /delivering best value mindset to develop collaborative team structure for systems administration as well as improving organization team framework. She also collaborate with campus IT to ensure interoperability between library systems and campus applications. Prior to Loyola, she was Information Systems Librarian for the University of Miami libraries. She is a regular writer and speaker on implementing technologies in user-centered library services. She has been playing essential roles in LITA (Library Information Technology Association) and has been active in Educause community. Her research interests are using value stream driven technologies/processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of library services and finding common ground between library services and IT services to achieve in-depth collaboration between two units.
