  I am an energy specialist with more than 30 years of engagement with the energy sector. I specialise in energy for development and work mainly on developing countries of Asia and Africa. My recent research has focused on energy access issues particularly using mini-grids. I have edited/ authored the following books: 1) Routledge Handbook of Energy in Asia in 2017 (Routledge, London); 2) Mini-grids for rural electrification of developing countries (Springer, 2014); 3) Rural electrification through decentralised off-grid systems in developing countries (Springer, 2011); 4) Energy Economics: Concepts, issues, markets and governance (Springer, 2009). I have extensively published in energy related journals and I am an Associate Editor of Energy for Sustainable Development. I am an Editorial Board member of the Environmental Research Letters and AIMS Energy.
