  I am a practitioner-researcher currently studying towards a PhD in Arts and Health at the University of Derby. My doctoral research builds on a pilot study completed as part of my Masters degree; using practice-based methods to investigate the impact of creative dance interventions on maternal wellbeing. Prior to focussing on research, I worked as a freelance arts practitioner teaching dance and performing arts across a range of community and education settings. I am particularly interested in bridging the gap between the arts and healthcare and delivering meaningful interventions that demonstrate real and measurable outcomes whilst still retaining artistic integrity and clinical robustness.

  In 2017 I completed a Masters Degree in Performance Practices at De Montfort University, during which I researched aspects of mental health in performance and community practice, autoethnography and autobiographical performance. My dissertation ‘Stepping Out With My Baby’ – an original practice-based research study – received a distinction and I graduated with Merit.
