Hello from Dublin, Ireland.

I'm an Information Technology Trainer in the corporate sector since 2006, with a background in business and IT; I also lecture evenings in an Institute of Technology since 2007.

While I have been developing e-learning in the corporate sector (Moodle, Storyline, Captivate are some of the products I use for development), it's my experience as a lecturer that has given me opportunities to experiment with blended learning, an expression which seems quite dated as I undertake this course.

This experience has also given me an interest in figuring out better ways of integrating new tech and new ways of sharing knowledge into my job, and I hope that this course will help me create learning experiences that are more engaging.

What has been challenging is getting learners to work by themselves and together to learn, instead of relying on me to impart knowledge. Old habits die hard and learners still come from an environment where the teacher is the authority and learning is passive, breaking that pattern will be the most challenging and rewarding experience.
