  I am a design researcher, educator and practitioner in the field of interior design and architecture. I am principal lecturer and programme lead of the Interior Architecture and Design programme at the University of Portsmouth. I have also been a design practitioner for over thirty years. My masters thesis at The Bartlett School of Architecture looked at architectures of dance and the occupation of space. Further research explores different understandings of the interior from the perspective of body, memory and the city. Conference papers include 'In a Darkened Room'(Inside the City Conference, London Metropolitan University, 2018 and published in IE:Studio, June 2019), exploring the camera obscura, body, photography, interior and city; 'A List of Parts Required', (Critical Resistance Symposium, Bartlett UCL, 2017), juxtaposing different voices in considering how the edges of things (objects, people, spaces) might liberate thinking about the interior. Together with my co-presenters, I am part of the Interlands group of interior researchers, dedicated to expanding the boundaries of interior knowledge.
