Sun Weiwei has participated in several international research projects, such as "Middle-aged and young Chinese artists and scholars of 2014 overseas research scheme", therein she did a research on the mechanism and curating strategies of contemporary art centres in Austria and Belgium. She also engages in curatorship. For instance, she curated a film screening and an art exhibition in the 43rd Tampere Film Festival (Finland). On the other hand, with her artworks(experimental films/video art, installations, performance art, intermedia art) she won some prizes, had several solo exhibitions, attended various international film festivals, art exhibitions and theatre festivals, such as 60th Berlin International Film Festival, 2011 International Film Festival Rotterdam, 1st ASEAN Biennale, Wuzhen Theatre Festival 2016, etc.
