  Stephanie Athey is an interdisciplinary scholar, Associate Professor of Humanities and Director of the Honors Program and Mexico Shoulder to Shoulder at Lasell College in Massachusetts. She is co-editor and author of the Spring 2016 special issue of Prose Studies, "Revaluing the Human: The Moral Economy of Human Rights" and editor of Sharpened Edge: Women of Color Resistance and Writing (2003), a collection of transnational feminist scholarship on the armed resistance, human rights organizing and development strategies of women of color and indigenous women in Africa, India and the Americas. She has published a variety of articles on torture, human rights, colonial discourse, and critical race studies.
