  Maggie Tobin is a practicing artist, community organizer, and art teacher at the Nightingale Bamford School in NYC. Besides teaching traditional painting and drawing techniques, she has also developed innovative courses such as Art for Social Change, Journaling into Mindfulness, Move Over Leonardo (where art and science intersect), and TInkering (electronics in art). She has recently been exploring the use of interactive components and ambient solar-power in her own painting practice to address the global need for integrating alternative energy sources. Maggie received her BFA from the U. of Colorado, Boulder, her MFA from Queens College, City University of New York, and a Diploma in Painting from the Scuola di Lorenzo de' Medici in Florence, Italy.
