  David Laraway received a PhD in Romance Studies at Cornell University and a PhD in Philosophy, Art, and Social Thought at the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland. He is an Associate Professor of Hispanic Literatures and Cultures at Brigham Young University (Provo, Utah), where he teaches and conducts research on a wide variety of topics in Hispanic literature. He is the author of Arbol de imagenes: nueva historia de la poesía hispanoamericana, as well as the forthcoming American Idiots: Outsider Music, Outsider Art, and the Philosophy of Incompetence.
