Larissa Adamiec is an Associate Professor at Benedictine University. Her extensive experience in the financial markets includes many accomplishments ranging from founding Stuart Investments, an equity fund, to teaching at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Larissa has spent most of her time since earning her Masters degree in Financial Engineering from the Stuart Graduate School of Business working with different types of investment products. She worked at many well-respected financial institutions, such as the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, where she developed over-the-counter fixed income products, Factset where she modeled mortgage-backed securities; and PEAK6 where she created educational courses in ETFs and options. Larissa's vast training and knowledge in equity research has formed the foundation for creating and understanding these more complex products. Larissa has her PhD in management science with a concentration in finance from Illinois Institute of Technology. Her dissertation title is: Markov Switching Models of Popular Foreign Exchange Carry Trade Strategies. Her research concentrations include currency pricing, ETFs, futures & options, VIX, economics, equities, asset pricing and financial education, specifically experiential learning. Additionally, Larissa continues to build bridges between the financial industry and academia by developing projects, such as the Implied Volatility Competition as sponsored by TD Ameritrade as well as by managing the CFA Research Team from Benedictine. She also sits on the Board of Stuart Investments.
