I am a retired Neurologist, Electroenchephalographer, and Sleep Disorders Specialist. I am an educator, active teacher and practitioner of Advaita Vedanta. I am speciality board certified in Neurology, Electroenchaphalography Sleep Disorders Medicine. I also hold a "Certification in Vedas Upanishads" awarded by the Oxford University Center for Hindu Studies. I was formerly a Clinical Associated Professor in Neurology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago, and also at the UT College of Medicine, Memphis, TN. USA. I was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society in 1986 for teaching excellence. I have authored over 25 scientific publications. I recently presented at a poster at the 2018 World Hindu Conference titled "The Vedantic Perspective: Its Value in Secular Education." I have previously authored a paper in the area of Religious Madness. I currently conduct weekly classes in Bhagavad Gita, Siddhanta Bindu, Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Advaita Makaranda, and Basic Sanskrit. My current interests are: The role of Advaita Vedants in contemporary society, Neurological Basis of Happiness, Enlightenment and Insight, and recent trends in Contemplative Neurosicence.
