    I received a B.A. In Political Science, Summa Cum Laude, in 1999 from Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton, Florida); obtained a M.A. in International Relations and Economics, with a concentration in Japan Studies, in 2002 from The Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), in Washington, DC; and earned a Ph.D. in Political Science in March 2006 from Hosei University in Tokyo, Japan. My dissertation was entitled “Energy Politics in Japanese-Soviet/Russian Relations: From Cooperation Initiatives in the 1970s to Cautious Engagement in the 1990s”.
