Dr. Thomas Sadler received his PhD in environmental economics in 1998 from the University of Tennessee. His research on local food economies, environmental policy, high performance organizations, international trade and food security, and energy systems has been published in numerous refereed journals, including Ecological Economics, Interdisciplinary Environmental Review, Atlantic Economic Journal, Journal of Economics, and the Journal of Interdisciplinary Economics, among others. He enjoys teaching economics courses to undergraduates on energy economics, environmental economics, sustainable food, and globalization. In his capacity as Director of the Center for Economic Education at Western Illinois University, he promotes economic education in area high schools, helps organize the annual "Economics Day" conference, and leads discussions of current economic events in the community.
