Thomas Forget teaches architectural design, history, and theory at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He also runs a design practice, Ciotat Studio, in New York City that focuses on architectural and urban projects, which have been recognized by juries and in exhibitions both nationally and internationally. The studio is also engaged in interdisciplinary and community-based projects, such as collaborative video installations in outdoor urban locations. In 2012, Forget published his first book, The Construction of Drawings and Movies (Routledge), which examines the history, theory, and practice of architectural projection. Primary research interests include the evolving (and problematic) nature of public space in the contemporary city, aesthetic concerns of infrastructure, and experimental cinema. He holds degrees from Columbia University, Yale University, and Princeton University.
