  Dr Theekshana Suraweera has been a Senior Lecturer and the Head of Department of Business and Information Management at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) Sri Lanka since 20008. Prior to joining SLIIT Theekshana was a lecturer in Information systems at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. He holds a PhD (Canterbury), MBA (Sri Lanka) and MSc (Reading). Theekshana did a seven years stint working on a number of IT pro-jects at United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). For an-other thirteen years he was a senior member of the Sri Lankan Civil Service, in which he managed a number of projects. Theekshana’s main teaching and research interests are Business Information Sys-tems, analysis and design of information systems, IT in the small business sector, IT management and instrument development. He has presented research papers in the refereed internatal confer-ences like Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS- Australia), International Conference on Digital Information Manage-ment (ICDIM-India) and the International Conference on Electronic Business (ICEIB- China).
