He has published widedly on topics of human rights, democratization, and conflict in journals such as Human Rights Quarterly, the Journal of Human Rights, International Interactions, and Conflict Management and Peace Science. Before arriving in the UAE, he taught for eleven years in New Zealand at the University of Canterbury.
