Susan Rowe has a Master’s degree in Museum Science. As Heritage Education Program Manager, Susan develops and coordinates all public programming at the Lubbock Lake Landmark. She is responsible for daily operations of the Landmark’s education program. She designs and directs all interpretive programming including school programs and curriculum, school and public outreach, program evaluation, volunteer services, public relations, grant writing, and budget development. She also participates in state, local, and national organizations that promote natural heritage and further education. She serves on the Texas Children in Nature steering committee, and a member of two international committees that are working to develop global “Best Practices” in museum education and research. Susan is a contributing author of the textbook Best Practices 3: A Tool to Improve Museum Education Internationally. She continues to serve as a Program Committee member for the Mountain-Plains Museums Association. She is session coordinator and past presenter at the Mountain-Plains Museums Association, the Informal Science Educators of Texas, and the International Committee of Museums – Committee for Education and Cultural Action annual conferences. Susan is a 2011 recipient of Texas Tech University’s Distinguished Staff Awards.
