My doctoral research was in the area of microbial processes in drinking water treatment, specifically evaluating ozonation, biofiltration and disinfection processes. My subsequent research and consulting experience are in the area of Environmental Risk Assessment – mainly human health.
I am currently Assistant Professor (Environmental Engineering) in the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kharagpur. My teaching experience includes undergraduate and post-graduate courses on topics such as: Environmental Microbiology and Ecology, Bioprocesses in water and wastewater treatment, Advanced processes in water and wastewater treatment, Hazardous Waste Management, Solid Waste Management, and Introduction to Environmental Science and Engineering.
My current research interests include conducting an IITKgp-SRIC sponsored project titled “Water Quality and Health Assessment for IIT Kharagpur” and a DST project titled ‘Water quality factors influencing microbial growth and disinfection response’.
