...MoreI obtained BS Biology, MM in Rural Development Management and PhD in Community Development with cognates in Sociology and Entomology from the University of the Philippines at Los Banos (UPLB). I am a University Researcher at UPLB and a Senior Lecturer at the University of the Philippines Open University. My present research endeavors concern climate change risks, vulnerability, resilience building, institutional adaptation, livelihood sustainability, poverty and well-being alleviation. I am a member of a research team in MODECERA (Monitoring and Detection of Ecosystem Changes for enhancing Resilience and Adaptation in the Philippines) program spearheaded by UPLB, in collaboration with regional state universities and colleges (SUCs) and local government units. MODECERA envisions to promote the science and understanding on the responses of selected ecosystems and watersheds to climate change and other natural stressors, and to human activities through long-term monitoring with the aim of enhancing the resilience of ecosystems. To realize this vision, the Philippines Ecosystem and Watershed Observation Network (PEWON) is being established in 18 watershed areas.
