  Biologist and chemist. PhD in science education. President of the Latin American research network in didactic of science education. His main research is the epistemological foundations of science education and teacher training (language and scientific discourse in school, modeling, and selfregulation).Is the principal investigator (PI). He was PI in AKA04 Project between Universidad Católica de Chile and University of Helsinki. Coordinates and guides research and administrative management of the entire project. He is co-responsible for the scientific content of the project, dissemination, transfer and productivity at local, national and international level. Director of the graduate thesis involved in the project. It also participates in the process of collecting and systematizing data in different phases of the project.
