Robyn Floyd recently completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne and is a Primary School Principal. Robyn has taught in all educational sectors from primary to tertiary with a strong background in educational research. Robyn combines her passion for teaching and research with writing and has written short stories, a bilingual children’s book (English/Auslan), teacher manuals and articles for educational and parenting magazines. Robyn’s PhD dissertation was entitled 'Imagining Australia in fairy tales: Constructing Australian fantasy from the German-Australian perspective of Olga Ernst.’ Robyn is interested in early Australian fairy tales (pre-Federation) and the placement of European fairies in the Australian bush environment. Robyn has published her research in peer reviewed journals, writes a research blog of reflecting on aspects of her research and is a founding member of the Australian Fairy Tale Society.
