The day I will never forget

My birthday is coming up soon and I really want a Novation Launchpad Mini.

Novation Launchpad Mini

Though it cost $162.00, its worth it. I want to make music like my musical hero. Marshmello. One of the best DJ's in the world! With a white helmet, two blacked out eyes, and a lovable smile. Marshmello. His music career is worth about $21,000,000.00!

If I ever get a launchpad, it would be hard because the launchpad uses software called Ableton.

Ableton

It's really hard, but when you learn it you will become more skilled with Ableton and it will be very easy. Though I'm turning nine, and it will be pretty hard. Eventually, I'll know how to do it.

Today we are going to the shops to go buy something for my little brother Toren. Long story. Toren gets to spend $20 dollars because he got a Christmas present from our Aunty that was $20 and we had the same present that she gave us. We stopped at JB-HI-FI to see if Toren wanted anything there.

After Toren chose his thing, Dad asked me if I wanted to go look at a launchpad. I said yes, so we did. We asked the lady that worked at JB-HI-FI If she could show us where the launchpads were. She showed us two types of launchpads. One was a launchpad with a piano attached to it. It is called a Novation Launch Key.

Then, she showed us the launchpad mini, the one I wanted.

"What one would you like"? The lady asked. I asked dad if I could get the launchpad mini.

"If that's what you want, you can have it for your early birthday present".

I told the lady that I would like the launchpad mini. Dad bought speakers with it so I could hear the music better. The best thing was it was on special for $141.00! The speakers were $40.00 so we spent $181.00. In the car, I started to happy cry! It meant a lot to me that dad bought the launchpad.

When we got home, dad said he will set up Ableton and everything else. It was a hot day, so we asked our friend if we could go to their apartment's pool. They said yes.

"I can't come", exclaimed dad. I asked him why not, but he said he has to do the Ableton thing for me.

"That's okay, maybe you could come another time," I told dad. When we went to the car, mum asked us if we have everything we need. We said yes. when we got to the pool, we played for an hour and then got dry at their apartment. When we got back home, I asked dad if he had done the Ableton stuff yet. "No, It's too hard. I'll finish it in the morning".

Two days later and I was making music with the launchpad. I asked my friend Will if he wanted to come over and he helped me with the launchpad. We made our first song together and we called it Bass Drop DW ("DW" stands for Dom and Will.)

21 days later it was my birthday. We went down the coast and had cupcakes to celebrate. When we were driving home, I was thinking of something BIG!, something AWESOME!, something SPECTACULAR! I asked my dad if he could buy me a Marshmello helmet so I could do Gordons Got Talent and play the Marshmello song alone and the school will think I'm Marshmello. Dad said okay, I'll look on eBay for one. The next day, we looked on eBay for a Marshmello helmet. We saw one that was really awesome, really cool, and really amazing! It was a Marshmello helmet with blue lights around its eyes and mouth!

Dad ordered it, "This is another early birthday present, you're lucky Dom!" Dad told me.

So I waited.... and waited.... and waited. I got bored, tired and angry about waiting THIS long! Dad said it should come on the 14th of February so that's something I can look forward to!

When the Marshmello helmet finally arrived, I got so excited!!! But dad told me it was just my grandma's package that she wanted. Though when he opened the box... "MY MARSHMELLO HELMET!!!" I yelled with happiness. Dad put the batteries in and put the helmet on. Dad pretended he was Marshmello. "That's so cool!" I exclaimed. When dad gave me the helmet, I started practising for Gordons Got Talent!

It was the day of Gordons Got Talent. I've got in the finals! I am about to play... THE SCHOOL WAS CHEERING SO LOUD! The crowd went wild! I was playing like a master! At the end of Gordons Got Talent, I took off my helmet. The crowd made a sound that sounded like this: OOOOOOOOHH!

That night, I dreamt about being famous and I made cool music like Marshmello. I was a superstar! 14 years later and I was an artist in Spotify and Itunes and Google play music, but no one listened to me. I felt lost and alone. Then I thought... that's enough! I'm going to become a famous singer JUST LIKE MARSHMELLO! Then I bought a flying ticket to the USA.

I said bye to mum, dad and my brother. "I'll come back in a week okay," I said. Now I'm on the plane. I'm listening to Marshmello on my headphones. "I can do it!" I repeatedly said in my mind. It took a day to arrive. I stayed in a motel. I set up my launchpad, my giant speakers, and the computer. Then, it came to me... I PLAYED AN AWESOME SONG AND THE WHOLE STREET HEARD IT!!! It was like Marshmello's music. When I published the song, Marshmello was following me on Spotify! He asked me if I wanted to make a song with him. I said yes! The song was called Mello Tunes! He even gave me a Novation Launchpad Pro!

So, I ended up playing cool music, being a millionaire, and playing a song with Marshmello.
