Rab is the Principal Instructor for Toyo University's Center for Global Education and Exchange on the Business English Skills and Training (BEST) program. In addition, he is also an IB MYP Language Acquisition Teacher at Tokyo Gakugei University's International Secondary School. He's also the current Director and Webmaster of the Asia Association for Global Studies, a Fellow of the British Royal Asiatic Society, a fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, Webmaster for the Japan Association for Language Teaching's Tokyo Chapter and the Business communication Special Interest Group and holds memberships in many other educational technology and professional teaching organisations. He has a BA (Hons.) in Pacific Asian History and an MA in Pacific Asian Studies from London University's School of Oriental and African Studies, a Certficate of Educational Technology and Information Literacy and an MS in Multidisciplinary Studies from SUNY Buffalo's Graduate Program for Educators and is currently a EdD candidate at University College London's Institute of Education where he is researching digital and media literacies. His publications range from peer-reviewed journal articles, conference proceedings, books chapters in an anthology on globalisation and human rights and a forthcoming chapter in a book on digital pedagogies. He has presented at many international academic conferences worldwide including Keynote, Plenary, Featured, and Invited Speaker slots as well as giving many workshops on edtech matters. He's an Apple Distinguished Educator, an Apple Certified teacher, a Google Innovator, Google Certified Trainer, Google Certified Educator, and a Founding Leader of the West Tokyo Google Educator Group - the first GEG in Japan. Rab lives in a semi self-built eco loghouse of his own design in the foothills of the Japan Alps with his family, their two big dogs, and their goat!
