  Pamela Garvey, Professor of English at St. Louis Community College-Meramec, is the author of three collections of poetry: Seven Miles Deep (2017), Things Impossible to Swallow (2013) and Fear (2008). She has published poems, short stories, essays, book reviews and articles in a range of popular and academic journals in the US ranging from Esquire to The North American Review. She is also a playwright with full length and short plays produced at various venues in the US over the last several years. She has been teaching literature, creative writing and composition for over twenty years with a focus on contemporary American literature. Originally from New York, she now lives in urban St. Louis with her teenage son.
