Dr.sc. Natasa Mrazovic, M.Arch.Eng., M.C.E., Eng.Deg., is a Senior R&D Project Manager in Permasteelisa Group. Natasa obtained her Ph.D. and Eng. degrees at the Civil and Environemtnal Engineering (CEE) Department, Stanford University, US, and her two masters from University of Zagreb, Croatia. Her studies at Stanford focused on Sustainable Design and Construction, specifically with the goal to streamline the application of Additive Manufacturing (AM), popularly known as 3D printing, into Architecture-Engineering-Construction (AEC) industry. Natasa's Ph.D. research has been recognized by the global leaders in building sector, such as Permasteelisa Group, the global leader for design and manufacturing of building facades. Even before finishing her Ph.D. Natasa was offered the position of a Senior R&D Project Manager to continue her research regarding AM in AEC, and to manage other R&D projects in the company. During her studies at Stanford, she was a Research Assistant at the Center for Integrated facility Engineering (CIFE) at Stanford, an affiliate in the Simulation Research Group (SRG) and Building Technology and Urban Systems Department in the Environmental Energy Technologies Division (EETD) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), and a Visiting Doctoral Researcher at the Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing Research Group, University of Nottingham, UK. Before her Ph.D. studies at Stanford, she worked for three years at the EETD/LBNL in the Interoperability Group which developed tools between CAD and whole building energy simulation software (EnergyPlus), e.g., in the application of BIM and database concepts for buildings, energy data use in modeling complex multi-story buildings, a Value Engineering project for energy efficient new building construction, etc. Her academic and professional career before LBNL has spanned ten years and over tis time she has worked as an architect and chief designer for two of the largest Croatian companies in design, consulting and engineering. She has also managed her own architectural design office and worked as a chief designer/project manager on large-scale projects in Croatia as well as Kazakhstan and the Ukraine. She has also four-year experience as a professional Teaching Assistant at the Department of Architecture and the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Zagreb. Throughout her professional career, she took every opportunity to enter, and cosequently win, numerous architectural competitions.
