I have an interest in teacher education and in the theoretical conceptions that inform instructional practice of teachers. Co-researching has provided a rich context for the development of ideas that are the result of many years of experience as a teacher and as a school administrator in both elementary and secondary contexts. Recent research has focused on teachers' use of modeling as an instructional approach and on the examination of strategies used after modeling to allow students to practice new learning and apply it to new contexts so that they internalize the learning.Additionally, conceptualizing the elements that comprise a new teachers' shift in focus to move from focusing on their teaching to focusing on their students' learning is the topic of ongoing research.
