It felt like hours as James stood still at the G-Force Emulator, trying to apply for a job. As James’s turn finally came, he stepped nervously into the G-Force Chamber.“Welcome to the G-Force Chamber,” the man's voice echoed through the highly desolate room. “Experiencing high G’s is one of the main fundamentals of becoming an astronaut.”

As James absorbed all this information, he sat in one of many hard, uncomfortable and spiky chairs. Seconds after, a monitor showed, requiring everyone to wear a belt due to the extreme amount of G’s which would easily make you fly. The Chamber started flying around, back and forth, G’s suddenly increasing, 2 G’s, 3G’s, 4G’s… James’s blood started pumping to his head. He felt slightly drowsy.

“NO!” James screamed, his head aching from trying to withstand the strength of G-force. James refused to fail. He saw the other job applicants become unconscious.

12 G’s, 14 G’s!

“Stop!” the man roared as the target amount of G-Force was reached.

As the Chief entered the chamber, James stood up. The room was still spinning as he tried to greet the man.

“My name is Pete. It looks like you were the only person to withstand the G-Force,” Pete exclaimed with a surprised tone. "In saying that, this means you're hired!"

“Thank you!” James said feeling most grateful.

“I’m very happy to hear that,” Pete said, feeling touched. “Well back to business. Because your new, we will assign an easier planetary mission which will be exploring the planets, Mercury and Venus. I will be coming with you with this expedition and another person named Rhyse. We will be using a state of the art Rocketship known as the Saturn Five. This rocket has the same name as the first rocket to explore the moon.

To add, this space ship has been equipped with quantum drives to enable hypersonic speeds. understand all of that?” Pete asked James, recovering his breath.

“I think…” James replied, feeling wary.

“Well let’s go pick up Rhyse,” James suggested.

“Good idea,” Pete replied.

As Pete was informing Rhyse about what was happening, James used VIP access to explore the rocket design. Within the blueprints, James saw the power source of the quantum engines which was a nuclear fusion reactor. There was also an internal cupboard that has microsized chips implanted in it.

“That’s weird…’ James said to himself, scanning over the final design.

After seeing the rocket design, James decided to catch up with Rhyse and Pete. As he met with them he greeted Rhyse warmly.

“Now that everyone’s here, let’s head to the platform now!” Pete said getting ready.

As the three astronomers arrived at the Rocket, they started to get ready. One by one, they all buckled up, ready for lift-off.

“Engage lift-off in tee minus 10 seconds. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and the Saturn Five has officially launched. No errors detected.”

As we entered the atmosphere all was well. We were all enjoying the view until something happened.

“Emergency emergency! Saturn five’s oxygen tanks have ejected!” The reporter said in absolute terror. “There is only time for one trip to one planet!... No! All gas canisters destroyed! Evacuate to Earth before it’s too late!"

“It must be the microbots I found in the blueprints! Someone must have sabotaged us!”

“What are you talking about?” Pete and Rhyse both asked, their temper rising.

“Wait. Please don’t scream and just listen! I remember that the microbots had to be remotely activated so that means there is someone else here!”

“That’s true,” Pete said, his anger decreasing slightly.

“Ok,” Pete said “I need you to steer us all back to Earth as James and I look around for intruders.

“Ok,” James and Rhyse both said, hoping to make it back alive.

“I’ll check the kitchen, you check the living room,” James said.

“Nothing here.”

“Or here.”

As Rhyse took control of the flight panel, he looked back and forth, checking for the presence of Pete and James. As he confirmed the coast was clear, he seemed like a monster in disguise as his eyes glinted. He set off course and then started to travel to the sun.

“We can’t find anything. Let’s just go back to Rhyse,” James said

“Good idea,” Pete replied

As Pete entered the room, he looked at Rhyse in utter astonishment. “Why would you do this?” Pete asked Rhyse, feeling terrified.

“Because NASA has been coming too close to discovering other things in the universe like the ancient civilisation of anglacrap. I was hoping that if this ship was destroyed with you in it, NASA might shut down.”

As Rhyse was explaining everything that happened, Pete screamed as loud as he could, “JAMES! COME HERE!”

As James heard that defining cry from Pete, he ran as fast as his legs could take him, and he made sure to grab a taser. “I’m sorry to say Pete but this is the end.”

Rhyse picked up something otherworldly. It looked like a plasma gun from a movie but much more realistic. As Pete stood there, bracing himself for the end, Rhyse started counting. “10, 9, 8,”... ZAP!

As a thousand-volt shock entered Rhyse’s body, you could see his corpse burning to a crisp. When Rhyse's desolate body fell to the floor, it reverted to the primal form of a horrible, eyeless monster. As Pete walked over the corpse, wanting to see his savour, James lay exhausted, holding a ten thousand volt taser in his hand. Pete and Rhyse rushed to the autopilot and set it to Earth. This was the last thing both of them saw before everything turned black.

As James awoke in his bed, it felt like a whole new reality. The sun was out, the birds were chirping. He was quite oblivious to what time it was or even what season. But he knew something, for without a doubt, he was home.
