  Mary Grace Quigley is a PhD candidate at the University of Adelaide. She holds a MA in Teaching German as a Foreign Language from the TU Berlin. Mary's current and previous research spans across the fields of German Studies and Applied Linguistics, with a focus on language learning and identity. The working title of her PhD research project is 'Learning German in English-Speaking Tertiary Contexts: Identity, Social Strategies and Language Use'. It looks at the connections between language learning and identity construction, as well as the ways in which language learning strategies can be incorporated into teaching methodology to promote learner autonomy and to improve learning outcomes.
