  I am a graduate student at Princeton University, interested in globalisation during the era of High Imperialism. My research argues that European Empires were more cooperative than historians have previously understood them to be. Through case studies (the Pacific Sealing Industry, the Boxer Rebellion, and the partition of the Sultanate of Zanzibar), I show how Empires practiced a form of 'managed competition'.
