My work is situated at three distinct but related literatures: carceral geographies; urban restructuring and urban marginality; animal studies. my interests are street animals, cities and mobility on urban landscapes, urban history and politics; spaces of carcerality. i work with, and tracks the movements of forcibly displaced street dogs in Istanbul, and trying to situate them in my research as central informants in ethnography of carcerality, space and animality. my academic background in political theory (high pass/major in ph.d comprehensives), my ethnographic field research experience and my political engagement as an animal right and rescue activist provides intellectual and research competence in my area of interests.
