Michael Cheang has over 20 years of university teaching experience. He is an associate professor in the Human Development and Family Studies Department at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He teaches Family Resource Management and Family Public Policy. He has developed a curriculum for and trained para-professionals who care for or work directly with older adults. Over the past 15 years, he has worked on projects with the county offices on aging across the State of Hawaii. He is a certified Eden at Home Associate. Much of his work has been in working with caregivers who care for their older adult parents and relatives. His doctorate is in Public Health with an interest in gerontology.
