Melusine Martin is a PhD candidate under a cotutelle agreement between the James Cook University, Australia, and the Paris-Sorbonne University, France. Her research focuses on environmental humanities, environmental philosophy and ecofeminism. She is a former English teacher and interpreter. Her practical experience developed her skills in conducting research about British, American and Australian civilizations and literatures and working extensively on the analysis of ecocritical documents and environmental literature classics. She is a Research Fellow at the Cairns Institute of Tropical Societies, and her aim is to provide a new idea of nature based on a critic of Western culture characterized by the human/nature dualism and to analyse how our representations of nature play an essential role in our well-being.
