  Marjorie van Roon is a senior lecturer in the School of Architecture and Planning at the University of Auckland. In this capacity she teaches and researches in the fields of ecology and integrated water cycle management within the professions of Urban Planning and Urban Design. Marjorie's current research is within the two New Zealand practices of Water Sensitive Design and secondly Low Impact Urban Design and Development. Marjorie was responsible for the development of a policy and implementation framework for LIUDD and testing this against a range of case studies. In addition she has been testing the ecological efficacy of WSD/LIUDD on a catchment scale by monitoring aquatic ecosystem health indicators and relating these to catchment condition.
