  Maris Stella (Star) Swift is a lawyer who specializes in labor, employment and technology law. She was the chair of the Michigan Employment Relations Commission for 10 years. In that position she appointed arbitrators and mediators for the state to ensure labor peace in the collective bargaining arena of the state. She now teaches at the Seidman College of Business. Her courses include negotiations and arbitration, labor and employment law and law for executives. Star hold a JD and a Masters in Labor and Industrial Relations.
