  Dr. Cogburn is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-Shreveport(USA), where he teaches in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program. He is a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor with Appraisal Priviilges, and a Certified Addiction Nurse - Advanced Practice. His primary teaching responsibilities are to provide lectures to child psychiatry fellows on family system dynamics, family therapy, parent education and principles/techniques of psychotherapy. Mark also serves as the Director of Student Mental Health for LSUHSC-Shreveport. Before his appointment to LSUHSC-Shreveport as a faculty member, Mark served as the Coordinator of Child and Adolescent Psychological Services for a comprehensive hospital system in Louisiana. He is the President of Behavioral Research Consultants, Inc. in Shreveport, Lousiana. Dr. Cogburn has been a basketball coach in youth sports for many years and has worked with local schools to modifiy their approaches to teaching and coaching young athletes. In the past, he has worked diligently to develop intervention models that have benefited medical school faculty and medical school students. Personally, Mark enjoys travel, playing basketball and golf, and sport fishing.
