Professor Pizzi has directed several research studies about incidence of the built environment on housing and urban spaces and their interaction with older perople's mobility in Chile, receiving national and international funds. She was teacher of the module "Older People and Built Environment" of the Master in Aging and Quality of Life of the Institute of Nutrition and Food Technology of the University of Chile (INTA). Currently participates and sponsors the Transdiciplinary Network on Ageing of the University of Chile, enriching with her expertise about architecture and built environment this network of academics from Medicine and Social Sciences areas
