  María Badilla is Associate Professor at the Universidad Católica de la Santisima Concepción, Chile. She is the Director of the Doctoral in Education program, and Director of the Journal of Educational Studies in Education and Experiences (REXE). She is also a researcher of the Center for Research in Education and Development, CIEDE-UCSC. Her research focuses on the integration of information and communication technologies in educational innovation and includes working with immersive virtual worlds in higher education and schools, as well as the use of educational videogames to improve teaching and learning processes. Between 2016 and 2018 she was visiting Research Professor in the Laboratory for Embodied Cognition and Embodied Games Lab at the Arizona State University, Unites States.
