  I am a Dean Emerita and Professor of Industrial Design at Rochester Institute of Technology. Prior to that, I was the Dean of the School of Design at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Georgia Institute of Technology. I am the author of The Future of Design, Global Product Innovation in a Complex World (Nicholas Brealey/Hachette), and China's Design Revolution (MIT Press). I worked in industry for 10 years before I joined Ohio State University, my first academic appointment, and continued to consult for industry for over 30 years.
