Linda M. Austin is Professor of English at Oklahoma State University. She is the author of The Practical Ruskin (1991), Nostalgia in Transition (2007), and articles on interdisciplinary topics in the nineteenth century, including the intersections of literature, dance, photography, economics, and psychology. Her current project examines the effect of studies of physiological automatisms on descriptions of artistic production.
