Dr. Lena Lee is an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education at Miami University of Ohio, USA. She earned her doctorate in early childhood education from Indiana University,
Bloomington. Her research focused mainly on the relationships among minority children, education, and socio-cultural contexts. She undertook cross-cultural research initiatives that dealt with understanding young children with diverse backgrounds and teachers' practices in relation to multicultural education and media. Her strong research expertise was well acknowledged by American Educational Research Association (AERA): She was the first recipient of Emerging Scholar Award of the SIG, Critical Perspective of Early Childhood Education, in 2011. She also serves several early childhood education association personnel as the Region 5 (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, & Wisconsin) Representative at the National Association for Early Childhood Teacher Educators (NAETEC) and as the Vice present of The Korean-American Early Childhood Education Researchers Association (KECERA). She has been conducting a project to enhance learning of young children from low-income families funded by PNC foundation since 2014.
