Laurie Hellsten is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean, Graduate Studies and Research in the College of Education. Her teaching areas include classroom assessment, research methodology, intermediate and advanced statistics, advanced test theory and instrument development. Dr. Hellsten’s research areas include physical activity and wellness; beginning teacher induction and professional identity; instrument development, analysis, and validation; program evaluation; survey research; and the application of modern quantitative and analytical techniques (classical test and item response theory, generalizability theory, factor analysis, and structural equation modeling) within the domains of education, health, and sport.
